Harding is most certainly beyond the point of no return, and he has practically become as much of a "pitiful creature of darkness" as Marco. I can picture the camera circling around Gerard Butler's Phantom and Emmy Rossum's Christine much like Harding's deadly decisions had him figuratively swirling down the toilet.
